Brand Experience

Challenge
A breakout product. Explosive demand. A brand that no longer matched the ambition.
Milo had built something genuinely new: an all-online application and closing process that lets foreign nationals finance US property without the burdensome requirements of a traditional bank. The product was meeting enormous untapped demand, and the company was scaling aggressively. But the brand needed to do more than look the part: it had to connect customers to that innovation immediately and serve as a mascot for the company's mission.

The challenge was also strategic, not just visual. Coming off a $6M seed round, the rebrand had to demonstrate tangible ROI to investors. And for a founder, a brand is an intensely personal expression of vision, so the work meant giving form and character to that vision while building an identity system that could hold up across product, marketing, and a fast-growing customer base.
Strategic Insight
The brand wasn't behind the product. It was behind the pace. Milo's identity had to scale as fast as the company was.

What We Created
What Success Looked Like
Fusion developed a complete brand identity system — the “Deco” concept — that gives Milo’s mission a face, a voice, and a visual language built to scale. The work was grounded in deep discovery into Milo’s platform and digital workflows, so the brand understood the borrowing experience at every step.
The winning “Deco” concept, selected from dozens of directions across three rounds of concepting, anchored by the Milo owl as a mascot for the mission.
A complete system of iconography, typography, color, and mood developed to express Milo’s innovation with clarity and warmth.
Easy-to-implement standards that let the Milo team execute independently, without relying on Fusion for every deliverable.
A full collateral suite spanning marketing and sales touchpoints, built to a consistent system.
Brand applied across responsive web, mobile experience, eCommerce, and social campaigns — the surfaces where customers meet Milo.
A new-brand announcement that documented the creative process through concept sketches, turning the rebrand itself into a story worth telling.
